On October 26, the Medical Officer of Women and Children’s Division of the Ministry of Health (MOH), together with the Dabindu Collective, conducted an awareness session on sexual and reproductive health rights for workers in Kilinochchi and Vavuniya.
We discussed menstrual cycle, sexual health, family planning, contraceptives and sexually transmitted diseases and social myths. The discussion was fruitful. The workshop also provided a platform for individual workers to access a doctor.
This awareness program is part of a project to advocate for the sexual and reproductive health rights and dignity of women garment workers in Sri Lanka.
கடந்த ஒக்டோபர் 26 அன்று, வவுனியா ஓவியா கட்டிடத்தில் மருத்துவ சுகாதார (MOH) பெண்கள் மற்றும் குழந்தைகள் பிரிவின் வைத்திய அதிகாரி இணைந்து, டாபிந்து கூட்டமைப்பானது கிளிநொசி உள்ள தொழிலாளர்கள் மற்றும் வவுனியா தொழிலாளர்களுக்கான பாலியல் மற்றும் இனப்பெருக்க சுகாதார உரிமைகள் தொடர்பான விழிப்புணர்வு அமர்வை நடத்தியது.
மாதவிடாய் சுழற்சி, பாலியல் சுகாதாரம், குடும்ப திட்டமிடல் , கருத்தடை மருந்துகள் மற்றும் பாலியல் ரீதியாக பரவும் நோய்கள் மற்றும் சமூக கட்டுக்கதைகள் குறித்து இங்கு விவாதித்தோம். கலந்துரையாடல் இடம்பெற்றது. இச் செயலமர்வானது, தனிப்பட்ட தொழிலாளர்கள் மருத்துவரை அணுகுவதற்கான இடத்தையும் வழங்கியது.
இந்த விழிப்புணர்வு திட்டம் இலங்கை ஆடைத் துறையில் பெண் தொழிலாளர்களின் பாலியல் மற்றும் இனப்பெருக்க சுகாதார உரிமைகள் மற்றும் கண்ணியத்திற்காக வாதிடுவது குறித்த திட்டத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாகும்.
