As part of the Community Voices for Reproductive Rights (CVRR) network, Textile Garment & Clothing Workers Union organized an awareness session for the FTZ community on October 19, 2025, through the project implemented by Dabindu Collective.
The session covered key topics such as sexuality, reproductive health, menstruation, sexually transmitted diseases, menstrual hygiene products, and menstrual cups. A counseling officer from the Medical Officer of Health Office also facilitated a discussion on maintaining emotional well-being.
25 garment women workers participated in this important discussion, which is part of the project “Advocating for the sexual and reproductive health rights and dignity of women garment workers in Sri Lanka.”
ලිංගික හා ප්රජනන සෞඛ්ය පිළිබඳව බිම් මට්ටමේ ගැටලු ආවරණය කිරීමේ අරමුණින් Community Voices for Reproductive Rights (CVRR) ජාලය යටතේ ඩාබිඳු සාමුහිකය විසින් ක්රියාත්මක කරන ව්යාපෘතියක් හරහා නිමි භාණ්ඩ, රෙදිපිළි සහ ඇඟලුම් සේවක සංගමය මගින් 2025 ඔක්තෝබර් 19 දින FTZ ප්රජාව සඳහා දැනුවත් කිරීමේ වැඩසටහනක් සංවිධානය කරන ලදී.
මෙහිදී ලිංගිකත්වය හා ප්රජනන සෞඛ්යය, ඔසප් වීම, ලිංගාශ්රිත රෝග, සනීපාරක්ෂක නිශ්පාදන, ඔසප් කෝප්පය පිළිබඳව දැනුවත් කිරීම් සිදුකෙරිණි. එසේම සෞඛ්ය වෛද්ය නිළධාරී කාර්යාලයේ මනෝ උපදේශන නිළධාරියකු විසින් චිත්තවේගීය යහපැවැත්ම පවත්වාගෙන යාම පිළිබඳව මගපෙන්වීම් ලබාදුන්නා.
වැඩසටහනට ඇඟලුම් කම්කරු කාන්තාවන් 25 දෙනෙකු සහභාගි වූ අතර, මෙම අවස්ථාව “ශ්රී ලංකා ඇඟලුම් ක්ෂේත්රයේ කම්කරු කාන්තාවන්ගේ ලිංගික හා ප්රජනන සෞඛ්ය අයිතීන් සහ ගෞරවාන්විත රැකියා වෙනුවෙන් උද්දේශනය කිරීම” යන ව්යාපෘතියේ කොටසක් වේ.
