This report endeavours to record and reflect on Dabindu Collective’s (Dabindu/DC/Organization) activism during the unprecedented times of the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic crisis in Sri Lanka. DC is a non-government organization established in 1984 striving to protect and promote women workers’ rights, specifically of women workers in the Free Trade Zones (FTZ) of Katunayake, Biyagama, and other industrial areas. Both events were unique and unexpected. Thus, brought upon great repercussions towards women’s rights. Dabindu as an organization had to take quick and unique action to effectively respond while also engaging in its normal project-based activities.
