On the 20th of July, Dabindu, together with the MOH of Skanthapuram, Kilinochchi, organised a mobile clinic for women garment workers of Kilinochchi. The MOH provided testing for blood sugar and pressure level tests, breast cancer tests, and Pap Smear tests. We also made a safe space to talk about our bodies, reproductive health, contraception, and sexual and gendered violence. The Doctors of the Skanthapuram MOH hosted an awareness session on diseases affecting women’s health, especially breast and cervical cancer.
These spaces prove useful in connecting the public healthcare system with garment workers who are often overlooked. This Mobile Clinic is part of the project on Advocating for the Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights & Dignity of women workers in the Sri Lankan garment industry.
ජූලි 20 වැනිදා ඩාබිඳු සාමූහිකය ස්කන්තපුරම්, කිලිනොච්චි සෞඛ්‍ය වෛද්‍ය නිලධාරී කාර්යාලය සමඟ එක්ව කිලිනොච්චි ඇඟලුම් සේවිකාවන් සඳහා ජංගම සායනයක් සංවිධානය කළේය. සීනි සහ රුධිර පීඩන මට්ටම් පරීක්ෂාව, පියයුරු සහ පැප් පරීක්ෂාව සෞඛ්‍ය වෛද්‍ය නිලධාරී කාර්යාලය ලබා දුන්නේය.
කම්කරු කාන්තාවන්ගේ ශරීර, ප්‍රජනක සෞඛ්‍යය, උපත් පාලන ක්‍රම, ලිංගික සහ සමාජභාවය මත පදනම් ප්‍රචණ්ඩත්වය ගැන කතා කිරීමට ද අපි ආරක්ෂිත අවකාශයක් සකස් කළෙමු. ස්කන්තපුරම් සෞඛ්‍ය වෛද්‍ය නිලධාරී කාර්යාල සෞඛ්‍ය වෛද්‍ය හෙදියෝ කාන්තාවන්ගේ සෞඛ්‍යයට බලපාන රෝග, විශේෂයෙන් පියයුරු සහ ගැබ්ගෙල පිළිකා පිළිබඳ දැනුවත් කිරීමේ සැසියක් ද පැවැත්වූහ.
බොහෝ විට නොසලකා හරින ඇඟලුම් සේවකයින් සමඟ මහජන සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා පද්ධතිය සම්බන්ධ කිරීමට මෙම අවකාශයන් ප්‍රයෝජනවත් වේ. මෙම සායනය ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ඇඟලුම් ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ කාන්තා සේවිකාවන්ගේ ලිංගික සහ ප්‍රජනක සෞඛ්‍ය අයිතිවාසිකම් සහ අභිමානය වෙනුවෙන් උද්දේශනය කිරීම පිළිබඳ අපගේ ව්‍යාපෘතියේ කොටසකි.
